Plastic Injection Moulding Manufacturer

What does a plastic injection moulding manufacturer and supplier do?

As an injection moulding manufacturer, Idea Stampi designs and builds the moulds themselves, the tooling used to shape thermoplastic parts. As an injection moulding supplier, we go a step further: we also produce the finished plastic parts, from prototype and pilot batches through to full-scale production runs, so our clients can source both the tool and the ongoing part supply from a single, accountable partner.

This dual role means we co-design the mould with you, manufacture it in-house, test it, and then supply the moulded components themselves, covering high-precision technical parts, multiple-impression moulds for high-volume production, and pilot moulds for small or limited-edition series with complex geometries.

Production capabilities: large, medium and small scale

Among the characteristics of injection moulding we can cite its versatility which allows this technique to fully satisfy the requirements of large, medium, small, and niche production.

Plastic injection moulding manufacturing at Idea Stampi covers all these three areas:

Production scale

Impressions

Typical annual volume

Mould material

Large-scale

Multiple-impression moulds

High-volume runs

Steel, thermal-treated for durability

Medium-scale

2–4 impressions

50,000–100,000 parts/year

Steel

Small-scale / pilot

Single-impression / pilot mould

Limited or niche series

Hardened/tempered steel or aluminium

Our injection moulding process

Delivering the types of moulds described above requires a certain degree of study as plastic injection moulding manufacturing is a process to be carried out through different steps:

#1 Design and co-design

Upon request, we co-design the mould you need along with you so we can discuss the aesthetic aspect and the technical details.

After that, our engineers start the actual plastic injection moulding manufacturing process by using state-of-the-art technologies such as CAD/CAM/CAE and VISI Flow systems to accurately evaluate even the tiniest details of the moulds-to-be.

#2 The actual construction

After every little detail has been defined we are ready to concretely give form to the mould. Our greatest advantage is that we use the same 3D model, which allows us to avoid data transcription errors.

To complete the production cycle, we conduct in-house final testing by using presses from 25T to 350T.

#3 Pre-series production

When a mould has been approved and die cast, we can proceed with the actual plastic injection moulding manufacturing.

This basically is a pre-series service we offer to verify the usability of the moulds.

Made in Italy: precision at our headquarters

Our headquarters sit in Rovereto, on the Brenner motorway link, a strategic crossroads connecting Italy's major manufacturing districts (Lombardy, Vicenza, and the optical district of Belluno) with Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Being Italian-made is not incidental to how we work: Made in Italy manufacturing stands for design flexibility, precision tooling craftsmanship and close technical collaboration, qualities our international clients, including those in the UK, specifically look for when the parts involved carry high aesthetic or dimensional demands.

We support companies across Europe, the UK, the US and worldwide, coordinating export documentation and logistics so that working with an Italian manufacturer is as straightforward as sourcing locally.

Sectors we serve

Idea Stampi manufactures injection moulds and parts for: automotive, medical, electric and electronic, industrial automation, household appliances, and personal care.

For 2026, we are also expanding into cosmetic packaging and defence-sector applications, building on recent investment in production capacity.

FAQ

What is the difference between an injection moulding manufacturer and a supplier?

A manufacturer designs and builds the mould (the tool); a supplier also produces and delivers the finished moulded parts. Idea Stampi does both, managing the full process from mould design to part supply.

What industries does Idea Stampi serve?

Automotive, medical, electric and electronic, industrial automation, household appliances and personal care, with expansion into cosmetic packaging and defence underway for 2026.

What certifications does Idea Stampi hold?

UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 (quality management) and UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management), both independently certified and internationally recognised.

Can Idea Stampi handle both large-scale and small-batch production?

Yes. We build multiple-impression moulds for large-scale runs, 2–4 impression moulds for medium volumes (50,000–100,000 parts/year), and pilot moulds for small or niche series.

Does Idea Stampi work with UK and international clients?

Yes. Alongside our home market in Italy and Europe, we work with companies in the UK, the US and worldwide, coordinating logistics and documentation for international delivery.

What technology does Idea Stampi use for mould design and construction?

CAD/CAM/CAE systems and VISI Flow simulation software, normalised components from Hasco/Meusburger, and in-house testing on presses from 25 to 350 tonnes.

Can Idea Stampi produce pilot moulds and prototypes?

Yes, in hardened and tempered steel or aluminium, designed to reduce investment risk before committing to full production tooling.
